31 GCAS members enjoyed an informative visit to this Black Mountain Phase (AD 1200–1300) site in the southern Mimbres Valley led by Dr. Fumi Arakawa and Dr. Danni Romero. Dr. Arakawa’s Indiana University at Bloomington field school is investigating the site, and he and the students talked about techniques used, what they’ve found, and what they hope to find. After observing the work in progress, several GCAS members stayed to lunch by the Mimbres River with the students.
